Golf Club Living in & Around Park City: A Local’s Guide to the Courses & Communities

by Michael Diamond

When most people think of Park City, they picture ski runs and powder days. But locals know: summer and fall on the golf courses are just as magical—and the golf club communities around Park City are some of the most amenitized, lifestyle-rich neighborhoods in the Mountain West.

As Park City–based agents, we spend a lot of time in these clubs—showing homes, meeting clients for lunch, and sneaking in nine holes at twilight—so this guide blends hard facts with on-the-ground insight.

We’ll walk through the major private golf communities and clubs, plus the in-town and resort courses buyers ask us about most.

Promontory Club: “Everything Resort-Style” in One Community

If you’re looking for the most fully built-out golf and club lifestyle in the area, you start with Promontory.

Promontory spans thousands of acres on the east side of Park City and is built around three golf experiences:

  • Pete Dye Canyon Course – a championship layout carved into canyons and hills with six sets of tees and serious elevation drama.

  • Nicklaus Painted Valley Course – a Jack Nicklaus–designed links-style course stretching over 8,000 yards at altitude, ranked among the top “New Private Courses” in the country.

  • The Hills Par-3 Course – a full 18-hole par-3 course with a dedicated Golf Academy and a St. Andrews–inspired putting green.

But golf is just the starting point. What families really feel day-to-day is the layered amenity stack:

  • Multiple clubhouses including The Hills Clubhouse, recently named 2024 Clubhouse of the Year by Golf Inc. and home to year-round simulators.

  • Kids’ Club – a 5,000-square-foot kids’ clubhouse with organized activities for ages 4–12, which is a huge deal for second-home and full-time families.

  • Beach Club – a mountain “beach” experience with sand, cabanas, water, and fire pits at 7,000 feet.

  • An equestrian center, pools, fitness, tennis/pickleball, and on-mountain ski lodges at Deer Valley and Park City Mountain.

Insider feel:
Promontory is ideal if you want the “we don’t have to leave the gate” resort lifestyle—kids biking to the pool, parents bouncing between tee times and spa appointments, everyone reconvening at The Shed or the Beach Club in the evening. It’s also one of the most popular choices for families relocating from California or Texas who want amenities to rival a five-star resort, plus strong rental potential in certain product types.

Glenwild: Quiet, Gated, and Ultra-Private

Just north of I-80, Glenwild is often described to us by clients as “understated, but top-tier.”

The community wraps around a Tom Fazio–designed championship course consistently ranked as Utah’s #1 course by Golf Digest

Beyond golf, Glenwild’s club amenities lean into wellness and intimate, member-focused service:

  • clubhouse and spa with fine dining, fitness, and year-round pool.

  • Health & fitness programming, personal training, and physical therapy.

  • Groomed winter trails, tennis, pickleball, and cross-country skiing right out your back door.

Insider feel:
Glenwild tends to attract buyers who appreciate a smaller, more intimate gated community—people who want to know their neighbors, prefer a quieter club scene, and like being roughly 10–15 minutes from both Kimball Junction and Old Town while still behind a gate.

Talisker Club – Tuhaye: Golf + Ski + Main Street Access

When buyers ask for “one membership that touches everything”, we talk about Talisker Club.

The Talisker ecosystem includes:

  • Tuhaye – the golf community above Jordanelle, centered on a Mark O’Meara–designed course plus a short course, family-friendly golf park, and on-site trails and amenities.

  • Empire Pass – a ski-in/ski-out club within Deer Valley Resort.

  • Main Street – a members-only lounge and Courchevel Bistro in the heart of Old Town.

  • The Outpost – a backcountry yurt-style playground for snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and off-grid winter fun.

Talisker Club markets itself as one of the most highly amenitized private club communities in Park City, pairing its top-ranked golf with spa, fitness, pools, and unique backcountry experiences.

Insider feel:
Tuhaye is a fit for buyers who love the idea of one membership that ties together golf, Deer Valley skiing, and Main Street social life. You’re a bit farther from town day-to-day, but you gain views, space, and a curated lifestyle.

Victory Ranch: Golf + River + Big-West Wilderness

If your buyer lights up when they hear words like fly-fishingUTV trails, and backcountryVictory Ranch belongs on the tour list.

Located along the Upper Provo River southeast of Park City, this private, low-density community combines a Rees Jones–designed 18-hole course with 6,000+ acres of backcountry and open space

Amenity highlights include:

  • The Golf Clubhouse & Grill overlooking the course.

  • The Barn – an amenity hub with pool, game room, pizzeria/ice cream shop, fitness, spa, and courts.

  • The Post – basecamp for pool, gear, and guided adventures.

  • A members-only ski-in/ski-out lounge at 875 Main at the Town Lift in Old Town Park City.

  • Extensive activities: mountain biking, yurt camping, 5-stand shooting, archery, river and pond fishing, and more.

Insider feel:
Victory Ranch buyers usually want privacy and authentic “ranch” energy more than in-town convenience. Think: a family that spends one day golfing, the next day on the river, and the third at the Barn pool—and then pops into Park City for dinner via the 875 Main lounge.

Red Ledges: Heber Valley Views & Nicklaus Golf

A short, scenic drive over into Heber ValleyRed Ledges blends dramatic red-rock scenery with club amenities that feel almost like a mini resort.

Key golf and club features:

  • An 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature course plus a 12-hole Jack Nicklaus Golf Park, originally recognized as the #1 new private course by Golf Magazine

  • The Village Center with resort-style pool complex, 144-foot waterslide, bar & grill, hot tub, and kids’ water play areas.

  • clubhouse with Juniper Grill, fitness, spa, and an additional pool and hot tub set into the red rock.

  • Jim McLean Golf School and Cliff Drysdale Tennis programs for serious golfers and racquet-sport families.

Insider feel:
Red Ledges is great for buyers who don’t mind being just outside Park City proper in exchange for slightly more value per square foot, big views, and a very robust amenity set—especially if they also ski at Deer Valley and don’t mind the quick drive over the pass.

Park Meadows Country Club: In-Town Golf & Established Neighborhood Vibe

If a client says, “I want to be in the middle of it all, with golf out my back door,” we talk about Park Meadows.

Park Meadows Country Club is the only in-town private golf and social club in Park City, set in the Park Meadows neighborhood just minutes from Historic Main Street and the ski resorts.

Highlights:

  • Jack Nicklaus Signature course that’s hosted 10 PGA Tour Champions events and is regularly ranked among the top courses in Utah.

  • newly remodeled clubhouse with golf simulator, dining, locker rooms, and social spaces.

  • Resort-style pool and fitness complex with food and beverage service, fire pits, and outdoor lounging.

Insider feel:
Park Meadows draws owners who want “bike to town, five minutes to skiing, golf in the backyard”. It feels less like a destination resort and more like Park City’s established in-town neighborhood with a serious golf pedigree.

Jeremy Ranch: The Only Arnold Palmer Signature Course in Utah

Just over Parley’s Summit on the way into Park City, Jeremy Ranch Golf & Country Club sits in a valley carved by East Canyon Creek.

Key points:

  • The only Arnold Palmer Signature Course in Utah, with big elevation changes and foothill views.

  • A full-service clubhouse and year-round social calendar, plus convenient access for both Salt Lake–based members and Park City homeowners.

Insider feel:
Jeremy is very popular with full-time locals and Salt Lake professionals who want legit mountain golf but need an easier I-80 commute. It skews a little more “locals’ club,” in the best possible way.

Public & Resort Courses: Park City Golf Club & Canyons Golf

Not everyone wants (or needs) a full private membership. Park City’s public and resort courses round out the lifestyle—especially for second-home owners who are here a few weeks a year.

Park City Golf Club (In-Town Municipal)

Right in town, next to Park City Mountain, Park City Golf Club is an 18-hole municipal course with full driving range and practice facilities.

Locals love it for:

  • Walkable rounds on a par-72 layout with up to ~7,000 yards from the back tees.

  • A classic bluegrass/bentgrass mountain course feel and a very social local-league scene.

Canyons Golf (Resort Course at Canyons Village)

At Canyons Village, Canyons Golf is a par-70, 18-hole resort course with over 550 feet of elevation change—yes, including a 297-foot drop from tee to green on hole 10 and a true island green on 18.

It’s known for dramatic ski-run views, creative shot-making, and that quintessential “you’re literally golfing on a ski hill” experience.

How to Choose the Right Golf Community for You

When we sit down with buyers who are “golf-curious,” we walk them through three big questions:

  1. How important is being in-town vs. behind a gate?

    • In-town: Park Meadows, proximity to Park City Golf Club & Canyons Golf.

    • Gated/club-style: Promontory, Glenwild, Talisker/Tuhaye, Victory Ranch, Red Ledges, Jeremy Ranch.

  2. Is this mainly a golf decision, or a lifestyle decision?

    • Pure golf pedigree: Glenwild, Park Meadows, Promontory, Red Ledges.

    • All-around lifestyle (kids’ programming, pools, river, equestrian, Main Street lounges, etc.): Promontory, Talisker Club, Victory Ranch, Red Ledges.

  3. How will you actually use it?

    • Here for 6–12 weeks a year? We look at lock-and-leave product, social vs. full golf memberships, and rental potential where allowed.

    • Planning to live here full-time? Then school districts, winter driving, and day-to-day routes (grocery, kids’ sports, airports) matter just as much as slope rating.
